Everyone talks about identifying your “ideal client” and for the longest time I couldn’t understand that. My corporate world background led me to believe that revenue was revenue and you take all you can get. But now as a business owner approaching our five year anniversary, I believe differently. I finally have ours figured out. M&G clients place a huge premium on visual presentation and also on their own time. They want to hand their gifting over to us and have us handle it from start to finish. From design, to sourcing, to assembly, to paper design, to venue coordination, to shipping/delivery. All the things. They realize that gifting isn’t just throwing random items into a box and that gift curation is an art that, if done well, can perfectly express the aesthetic of their event or accurately convey the message behind their brand. Just like they’re busy being experts in their own field, they respect us for our experience in ours. Our clients gift for different reasons...some wedding, some corporate event, and some client appreciation. But they ALL trust us creatively and operationally and as a result, get gifting safely off of their shoulders and onto ours. And while they could DIY their gifts less expensively, they don’t mind paying a premium for this service. They see the value and they welcome it. This means we won’t win every project. We aren’t for everyone. We hear “so-and-so will design custom gifts for me for free” and we have to let them go.
