Even if y’all have been following me for 10 seconds, you should know my obsessions with @barrysbootcamp ♂️ And today, ONE YEAR AGO (it’s already been a year!!!! ), a vvvvv unprepared Matt walked into the red room for the first time and tried his best not to fall of the treadmill & barf while @darcyfierce blasted Beyoncé & Ariana remixes for an hour Never in a thousand years would I imagine what I would find with Barry’s.

Ya see, yes y’all see me going and working out at @barryscanada all the time on my Stories. But this red room is SO much more than just a workout. I mean, there are bootcamps and other classes all over the city. You can get your sweat in anywhere. Barry’s is different.

Barry’s is pushing yourself to your absolute limits, reaching your mental barrier where you brain pushes you slow down, and punching the hell outta that wall to reach the other side It’s leaving that red room with the satisfaction that you just left your all in there and came out on the other side a more strong-willed and powerful human. It’s getting out of bed in the morning wanting to keep progressing, keep pushing yourself, and make healthy choices for your body, mind, & soul. It’s finding a community of humans who will constantly uplift you, tell you where you need to improve, push you past where you think you can go, and just have a fucking blast Thank you to every single person who’s impacted me throughout this crazy fitness journey I’ve been on ❤️

right off the bat i want to say that (certain) oils are not bad for you, fats are not bad for you and we need these in our diet in order to function properly so ditch the “low fat diet” mentality
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
nowwwww, one of the most popular, highly used oils out there in the food industry is >> CANOLA OIL <<
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
from salad dressings to baked goods to fried foods, it’s used pretty much in every restaurant and every popular food item
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but this oil IS NOT HEALTHY and there are much more beneficial oils out there that you can and should use in replace of canola oil
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
here are a few reasons why you should avoid canola oil:
✖️contains trans-fats
✖️high in omega-6s // low in omega-3s leading to inflammation & oxidative stress
✖️over 90% of canola crops in the USA are genetically modified (GMO) meaning it has been genetically engineered to be more resistant to pesticides
✖️production involves super high heat and exposure to chemicals
✖️bleaching is apart of the chemical treatment
✖️heavily refined foods lose nutrients such as antioxidants and vitamins

oils to use instead:
✔️olive oil - rich in anti-inflammatory compounds
✔️coconut oil - good for higher heat cooking and can help increase the good cholesterol (HDL)
✔️avocado oil - heat resistant & higher in antioxidants
✔️hempseed oil - highly nutritious
✔️flaxseed oil - may help reduce blood pressure and inflammation

Brianna’s dressing on the left is very popular, has a nice simple label making it easy to grab off the shelf but the FIRST ingredient is.... CANOLAAAAA OIL! (ingredients are listed from most abundant to least abundant so.... this one sucks)
@odanghummus uses extra virgin olive oil instead which is a much better choice for your health!

Ma relation avec les médias sociaux a commencé il y a plus ou moins 1 an. J’ai commencé a poster 3 fois par semaine et ensuite 1 fois par jour. Beaucoup de pression y était reliée. Je ne voulais pas manquer une journée par peur de perdre de l’engagement. Après, je me suis rendue compte que ma priorité était devenue autre que mon moi.
Si vous négligez les sphères de votre vie pour trop de chose externe comme le travail, les médias sociaux, les amis, etc. Recentrez-vous. Revenez a vos bases. Revenez a l’intérieur de vous.
Parfois, on est partout sauf au centre de nous et c’est la que nous perdons notre essence. Notre connection avec notre moi-intérieur. Sans connection avec nous, il est impossible d’agir en fonction de nos valeurs ainsi que de nos interêt.
Écoutez vous. Recentrez-vous. Faites de vous votre priorité numéro 1. Ensuite, dresser une liste de vos autres priorités qui découlent de vos intérêts.
Sans vraiment de connaissances de soi, rien n’est vraiment réalisable. Mais pour le faire, il faut d’abord se connecter a soi.

What do you attribute importance to outside of you?
My relationship with social media started about 1 year ago. I started posting 3 times a week and then 1 time a day. A lot of pressure was connected to it. I did not want to miss a day for fear of losing commitment. Afterwards, I realized that my priority had become other than my self.
If you neglect the spheres of your life for too much external things like work, social media, friends, etc. Refocus. Come back to your basics. Come back inside of you.
Sometimes we are everywhere except in the center of us and that's where we lose our essence. Our connection with our inner self Without connection with us, it is impossible to act according to our values as well as our interests.
Listen to you. Refocus. Make it your number one priority. Then list your other priorities that come from your interests.
Without really self-knowledge, nothing is really achievable. But to do so, you must first connect with yourself.
