A glimpse into what my current shoulder joint training looks like.
.
✅Training the regressive tissues of shoulder external rotation via passive range lift off with a 2 second hold at end range, followed by a controlled eccentric.
.

By popular demand, the BOB in action. With it you can directly strengthen the muscle on the concentric, and stretch the muscle/achilles/ankle on the eccentric while promoting stability development. At Westside the lifters mainly use it as part of their active warm-up to release their calfs before max pulls.

George Frenn was powerlifter, although he mostly approached that sport as training for hammer throwing; consequently, he concentrated on the squat and deadlift more than the bench press, as bench press was less good for his throws. In 1967 he became the first national powerlifting champion in the 242 lb (110 kg) weight class despite the runners-up comfortably beating him in the bench press. Frenn helped promote powerlifting and challenged the authority of Bob Hoffman in the sport with Joe Weider, Frenn organized one of the first international powerlifting meets, a competition between American and British lifters, in 1970 despite opposition from Hoffman.
Frenn competed in the first World's Strongest Man contest in 1977, but placed eighth and last.
Frenn was one of the original members of the Culver city #westsidebarbell club and helped pioneer the box squat At 5’11”, weighing 244, George had the compact look of featherweight and moves with a coordination and speed directed by a soft of built in electronic circuitry!
George did 10 – 50 yd. sprints twice weekly. His reason: the cardio-vascular system must be kept elastic. The intra-thoracic pressure is enormous in heavy single weightlifting attempts. The heart and blood vessels must be ready for this force. He also swam and did stretching exercises, convinced that full flexibility helps rather than hinders strength.
Another idea he made full use of is the basic “Base of Support”. For example, he wrapped the full length of a folded bed sheet around his waist before putting on his lifting belt. This, he reasons, increases the diameter of his midsection and gives him a more solid base of supporting the heavy squats and deadlifts, thus providing greater overload.
Frenn worked as a high school teacher in California for thirty-two years.
