Forbes names the University of Arizona one of Arizona's best employers!
UArizona has been named to the magazine's inaugural list of America's Best-in-State Employers 2019, placing No. 11 out of 72 employers in Arizona and No. 1 in the education subcategory. The UArizona was ranked No. 2 among employers headquartered in Arizona.
Employees were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Participants were also prompted to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
UArizona employees enjoy a competitive benefits package, a comprehensive work/life program, innovative leadership development initiatives, and tuition discounts for employees and their dependents.
Family-friendly options, such as six weeks of paid parental leave, sick and emergency child care, lactation resources, and elder-care resources are available as well.
Employees also have access to on-site health and wellness screenings, fitness and nutrition guidance, and membership in the state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center.
It’s a rainy day here in Tucson Nothing beats desert storms!
.
When I first moved to Tucson years ago, I swore I’d never love it. I had moved from gorgeous San Diego with oceans, lush mountains, and flowers in every corner to a place nicknamed “The Dirty T”. There’s no grass. Definitely no ocean. Flowers are few and far between. .
But, there are these mountains that tower over everywhere. In the winter, they turn white. After monsoons, they’re speckled with green. As spring approaches, the orange trees get weighed down with color. The mesquite trees turn the entire town yellow. The big saguaros everywhere have called this place home for centuries. The sunsets can’t be matched anywhere in the world. .
So, yeah, here I am confessing. Fine. FINE. I was wrong. I love this desert life
