Intended to watch this last night but KO’d as I was so tired - missed some good hits, great to see @amedrosario1 and @dominicsmith22 go deep. I don’t, however, have much regret about seeing Wilmer Font piss away any hope of our victory, in true Mets pen style. It’s become a frankly expected outcome in the later innings, like watching the hero get murdered in a horror movie you’ve seen a million times. I’ve not even bothered to draft a take on last night’s loss to the fish - on top of the SWEEP they gave us in the first half of the season. It was SUCH bullshit and the same old same old problems - PITCHING. . WTAF was Vargas thinking with that bizarre obsession to catch the Marlin’s pitcher stealing in the 3rd? Seriously? Grandyman is an old favourite of mine and, with any player we’ve let go (Jay Bruce is a recent, bitter example), their subsequent damage to us is even more infuriating. Vargas DESERVED to get smashed for that circus. I’m not even going into the rest of it as it’s taken me almost the whole day to calm down since watching it and I want to remain even remotely serene on my Saturday night. What a disgrace. .
