Solo Lagare Liberdade! ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ A 'lagare' is granite container used in traditional Portuguese winemaking. During harvest the grapes are brought into the winery and transferred into lagares, either with or without their stems. After dinner, the harvest workers (normally a group of around 20) wash their feet and legs, put on shorts and hop into the lagares to tread the grapes. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ The "Corte" is the first stage in the treading process where the workers stand in a line with their arms stretched out across their neighbours' shoulders. They march forward and backward one step at a time following a drum or a rhythmic song.
