I've had a lot of requests for a tutorial about my cloaked Fire Warriors, so I remembered to take photos while building the latest squad! You will need - 1 box of Fire Warriors, and 1 box of Skitarii 1. Remove and trim the FW legs, torso, head, and arms, and the Skitarii torso front and back, making sure the legs fit reasonably within the cloak 2. Cut the FW torso in half vertically, and cut the chest of the Skitarii torso off flush 3. Attach the front half of the Tau torso to the back of the Skitarii torso. 4. Attach the legs to the consolidated torso - you can pin them together if there's not enough plastic touching to get a good bond. 5. Remove the cloak flaps from the front part of the Skitarii and glue to the cloak, trim if necessary to fit with limbs 6. Attach arms and head. Feel free to play around here - I've used a number of Skitarii cybernetic limbs across mine. Tau only have three fingers, so choose the appropriate Skitarii hands for the job (or trim a finger off the sculpt!) 7. Liquid greenstuff to fill the gaps in the cloak. Regular greenstuff can work too. 8. Sculpt the hoods out of green stuff. I'm still working on my sculpting skills, but it's easier than you'd think to get something half-decent. Watch a few tutorials if in doubt, and be mindful of how fabric folds. 9. Attach any extra kit you want, both boxes have tons of great bits that can be used creatively! I've turned Skitarii data tethers into grenades, for example. 10. Paint that bad boy! I hope this answers some of the more common questions I've been getting, and with any luck it inspires somebody to have a go at what I consider to be one of the more enjoyable parts of the hobby - kitbashing and converting!
