Almost of my life I thought that doing a back bridge is associated with lower back pain. It took me so long to discover that it shouldn’t be like that! As I got into it more I realized that you’re actually not supposed to feel a back bridge in your lower back.
Many instructors will tell you that you should maximize the arc in your lower back and straighten out your limbs. But back bands aren’t just a lower back exercise! They’re meant to train the entire posterior muscle chain. The arc should be distributed throughout all of the joints, not just concentrated on the lover back.
So how to do back bridge without hurting your lower back? There are a few things responsible for your bridge like: shoulder flexion, thoracic spine extension and abdominal fascia.
Another name for back bridge is called the thoracic bridge. That’s because you are suppose to have part of the bend in your upper back trying to push the chest out. If you can’t do this because you have a bad posture or you are too tight in your shoulders, then you will probably do the entire bend in your lower back which is wrong.
The cue for doing back bridge is “hips up and shoulders blades together. This helps all of the muscles to engage automatically, with the top allowing to contract the gluteal and hamstring muscles, as well as extending the upper back. The lower back mostly remains rigid. What you have to do is to tilt the pelvis, relieve the pressure off the back of the lumbar discs and allow the spine stay in a neutral position.
Keep practicing but wisely

Beautiful photo but @dylan.photos.yoga
В субботу мы открыли сезон йоги на море♀️☀️
–
Листай карусель фото и смотри как это было
Больше фото жди на страничке @yoga_stretching_odessa
–
And just like that one chapter closes and another opens.
The success of this one was getting out.
Getting through.
Getting to the point where I finally saved myself from the destruction happening in that place.
I’ve been naive in thinking that I could travel through any given situation and protect myself so much that I would not be tarnished by the poison too.
Now it’s time to filter out the positive bits of what I’ve experienced and shed the rest like the bad dream it was.
I’m so thankful for those that have stuck with me through the tears, the moods, and the lack of time and love I had to give.
Most of all, I’m thankful for the one who pushed me to get out. The one who supported my decision to forge a new path .
om mani padme hum ✨
