I was reading some old notes on my diary and I found a poem I wrote a few years ago when I was still going through my own healing process. It seems a life ago. It is quite emotional to read these words. Legs are moving too rapidly, hands searching for anything to hold, lungs are giving up, suddenly. I am struggling to stay above the water. My eyes sting, waves keep crashing over me. I can’t breathe. I can’t touch. I can only think. I think I’m drowning in the Ocean of Grief. We have the power to turn our existence upside down and create the life we want to live!

Wenn wir beschließen alte Gewohnheiten aus unserem Leben zu verabschieden, erwischen wir uns manchmal dabei, wie wir diesen Gewohnheiten nachtrauern, sie vermissen, nicht loslassen können. Als wären sie ein/e alte/r Freund/in, der/die uns nicht mehr begleitet. Die meisten Gewohnheiten/Süchte entstehen aus dem Unterdrücken mancher Gefühle, aus Erlebnissen, die uns in keiner positiven Weise berührten. Aus Erlebnissen, die sich unwohl anfühlen. Dieses Gefühl von Unwohlsein kann auch dann, zumindest für eine Zeit auftreten, nachdem wir die Gewohnheiten gestoppt haben. Der Mensch ist ein Gewohnheitstier. Viele Gewohnheiten werden nicht bewusst erzeugt, sondern entstehen durch externen Einflüsse, durch andere Menschen, die uns auf unterschiedlicher Weise prägen. Wenn wir uns jedoch gegen sie (die Gewohnheiten) entscheiden, heißt der einzige Weg zum Erfolg: Durchhalten. Und geduldig sein. Ja es ist herausfordernd! Unser Körper, Herz und Verstand braucht immer eine Zeit zum Anpassen. Wenn wir selbst aber dadurch neu geformt, geheilt oder gestärkt werden, ist es Wert nach Vorne zu blicken.... Und alte Gewohnheiten aus unserem Leben zu verabschieden. @katja_koppensteiner

Sei authentisch = Sei dir selbst treu. Authentizität bedeutet für mich meine Stärken und Schwächen zu erkennen, aber auch zu ihnen zu stehen. Erkennen, dass sie mich als Mensch ausmachen, der Mensch, den ich bin und nicht eine Perfektion anstreben, die mich von meinem wunderbaren Selbst entfernt. Lernen sich zu lieben, auch wenn man sich unsicher und nicht dazugehörig fühlt. Akzeptieren, dass auch "nur" durch die Energie und die Natürlichkeit und nicht unbedingt durch große realitätsfernen Geste Wertschätzung und Bewunderung erlangen kann. Wir müssen und sollen nicht nach einem vorgegebenen Matrix leben, sondern durch unsere Intuition und unsere innere Kraft. Yoga outside makes for a beautiful picture, but the real beauty is in the action. Some of my favorite, most memorable practices have taken place outside. It is when I feel most connected to the world around me. . . . Yoga asks us to come into the physical presence of ourselves by tuning into our senses, slowing the breath, and observing. I find when I practice outside, I remember that my “self” does not end at my fingers and toes, but extends to the whole earth. . . . i especially love practicing in new places and opening my senses to really taking in the ground, the sky, the playing of light, the sounds, the wind. It reminds me that all of those elements are in me, too, and there is limitless potential for exploring and experiencing newness in ourselves. We are made of the same stardust✨ as nature, it is only in our minds where the separation exists. When I was younger, I used to hate taking photos. If I did, I never liked looking in the camera. I never cared for my prominent, square jaw or seemingly big, puffy cheeks. I was so self-conscious. Then a teacher once said, "Why are you afraid to be seen, truly seen?" At the time, I wasn't really sure how to respond. But it never occurred to me that it was a problem until the depths of my practice revealed otherwise. Vulnerability and allowing ourselves to be deeply seen are essential in relationship. It's in our transparency that we afford another the opportunity to meet us where we are with honesty, tenderness and care. And in doing so we invite others to be transparent with us, too. My lifelong interests in yoga psychology, philosophy and neuroscience have shaped my love for the work I do. I know how to hold space for others because I have learned how to hold space for myself. It's no longer a problem to look into a camera lens or deeply into another's eyes (I can eye gaze forever ).The eyes are the window to the soul. I am no longer afraid to be seen. And i no longer see a square jaw or big cheeks, just a whole lotta Light Yoga is relationship. Yoga is intimacy.
