Has anyone else noticed that oat mylk is the "it" plant mylk right now? What do you think of it? Do you prefer it?
That last time I made oat mylk was a fail. I couldn't strain it. Either my bag was too fine woven or I blitzed the oats too long. It was a mess. I wasn't keen on the flavour and the almost goopy texture weirded me out, so I never went back to it. I've made rice mylk also, but that was an obvious fail cause I've never made that again either. Now that I'm thinking about it, I've also made hemp mylk... the bitter, grassy taste was not so pleasant, and soy mylk felt like a lot of fuss and I'd rather just use that time for homemade tofu... which by the way, is amazing! and I must do it again!
But here I am again with the oats. Still the goopy texture, still the fine grain. I decided to pour the mixture through a strainer instead of my hemp mylk bag - figured I'd have more success... I did. I added a date and a pinch of salt, and left the oat grounds in the fridge for... perhaps bliss balls? and still, I'm not super keen on the taste. Does anyone make a half this half that mylk using oats? I love the cheapness of oats but I feel that homemade almond and store brought soy is my choice at the mo. An interesting fact though... by the time my husband drove to the shops 5mins away to get his milk, I had made this oat mylk annnd cleaned up
These straws are made out of grass. Would you use one?

Dishwasher powder ✨
.
Ever looked at the ingredients in store bought dishwasher tablets? The smell of chemicals and artificial lemon makes me want to vomit be honest. And we are washing our dishes with these toxic products and then eating off them.. doesn’t sound very smart.
.
I have been making my own for over a year now and will never go back. Simple, easy, cheap!
.
1 cup bicarbonate soda
1/4 cup citric acid
1 tablespoon on guard cleaner concentrate/natural dishwashing liquid.
10 drops of grapefruit
.
Mix everything together in a glass bowl and give it a mix every half an hour till it’s dried and set in powder form. Store in a glass air tight jar.
.
I swear by the doterra on guard cleaner concentrate, it’s the only product I still purchase and it’s amazing. You can substitute for a natural dishwashing liquid or Castile soap.
.
I use plain old vinegar as my rinse aid in my dishwasher. It helps removes any residue and you get a clearer finish on your glassware.
