Happy #earthday! Lets help our donating at https//zululandconservationtrust.org/donate Today on Earth day I wanted to share a bit of an experience that I had to live a few months ago. I was fortunate to be able to work a couple of days in a rhinoceros orphanage and although it was a unique and incredible experience, I was left with a broken heart, it marked me forever ... the simple fact of thinking about why these babies live there It breaks my heart, it's because someone killed his mom for his horn !!! Yes, they killed an animal of almost 2 tons for a horn made of keratin. That's right, the same material that our nails are made of !!!! And the only way to prevent them from becoming extinct is to hide them or cut their horns every two years so that they are not "attractive" to hunters. The people who work there risk their lives daily for the preservation of the 2 species that exist in Africa, knowing that at any moment the poachers can come to try to cut their horn.
As you can imagine the expenses are huge, depending on the age, each baby takes 2-3 liters of milk every 3-4 hours, which has to be formulaic. Also, sadly they have to cut the horn like the other adults who live in the reserves, medication costs, electricity, food etc so if you want to help please donate to https//zululandconservationtrust.org/donate is in us help from here!
Thank you Leno Sierra for opening my eyes and for making my heart even more sensitive to the planet we belong to and which we are destroying#rhino #wildlifeconservation #wild #blackrhino #orphanage #nature #balance #naturelover #zululand
