There are a couple of goodbyes I've needed to say for the last few weeks, and one of the biggest ones is to @enactus_smu. I was brought onto the team by @namisayshello 4.5 years ago to help market a local bridal store. When I joined the program, I had moved to a new country just 5 months prior, and I was trying to find a sense of direction, a purpose. I wanted to do work that was bigger than myself, and I had no idea how to find it. I was struggling with culture shock I didn't even know I was having, and I was floundering to create an identity in an unknown environment. Coming onto this team changed the way I see the world, and how. This team allowed me to be a part of so much amazing work - helping newcomers adjust to life in Canada, traveling to Kenya to teach women how to run their own business, collaborating to start projects in India, attending @enactus World Cups, brewing a beer to reduce food waste in Nova Scotia, and representing the team's work on stage in Toronto, Vancouver, London, and Dubai. It's been mind-blowing, to say the least. But it hasn't always been rainbows and butterflies! I've fought with people, cried a lot of tears, and quit the team (twice!). But I kept going back. Enactus allowed me to meet so many wonderful people who saw potential in me when I didn't in myself, and supported me in ways I didn't even know I needed to be supported. They pushed me to succeed constantly, and helped me see my own capabilities for which I will be forever grateful. It's the people who make this team what it is, and I will always love them deeply. So thank you, @enactus, @enactuscanada, and @enactus_smu for making me the person I am today. I never would have been able to do it without you. : @yz_photographs

Last night I had the honour of speaking at @halifaxsocialnetwork Round 8. I talked about my entrepreneurial journey in this wonderful city, the impact that @enactus_smu has had on my life, as well as the path my boss, Tim Alison has helped me walk with @screwthenaysayers and the EntreSphere. Key takeaways: 1. Keep an open mind and voice your intentions 2. Step outside your comfort zone 3. Ask questions even if you're afraid of the answers 4. Passions can change, and that's perfectly fine I'm excited to see where the future takes me and how my relationship with #entrepreneurship evolves in the years to come. Today, our team had the opportunity to talk about @squarerootssmu and @squarerootstoken in front of some of the biggest executives in the restaurant and food service world. Was it a dream come true? Yes. Could we have done it without our unbelievable team back in Halifax? Definitely not. I'm feeling extremely grateful to have been chosen by @enactus and @cocacola to represent the work of @enactus_smu, and to have met the wonderful team from @enactus_su!
