Colorism is still prevalent in today’s society to where people overlook and degrade brown skin girls simply because of their skin color. Hair is also another big issue. It has been programmed in the minds of many individuals that straight hair makes you appear more beautiful. Things being said like “I like your straight hair better” or “you look better with straight hair” ARE NOT COMPLIMENTS! You are also implying that kinky/curly hair isn’t beautiful. Have you ever taken a break from makeup ? How did you feel? It’s been 4 months since I wore a full face of makeup. This “makeup break” was not intentional. Life just got so busy after the baby that I had to pick which parts of makeup was essential. Anything that needed a lot of blending had to go, so out went the foundation, concealer, eyeshadow to mention a few. Now I can do my minimal makeup in less than 10 minutes! Here are some things I’ve observed since I’ve been wearing less makeup: . I have way too much makeup! I have over 30 eyeshadow palettes and even when I wore makeup, I didn’t use 5% of it . I don’t need every single new makeup that launches. Get your money’s worth from what you already have . My account is smiling since I stopped splurging on makeup . It feels good to not have a sticky, sweaty face in this hot summer! I used to wear makeup to the beach y’all . Wearing minimal makeup forces you to care for your skin . My skin is far from perfect but my confidence level is at an all time high. Natural beauty tings . I love the art of makeup, how it can “transform” you. Can’t wait to have time to beat my face again. I actually miss it! The best is when you can feel just as confident in your skin as when you have makeup on. It’s a win-win situation! And yes, I totally have on makeup in this throwback pic!
