For all those just starting out, I hope this can be a little motivational post for you.
This is me, starting the plan, 4 weeks in and now a year later. When I started I was unfit, unhealthy (high blood pressure) and generally unhappy in my own body. I wanted to show you that it doesn’t all happen at once, you may notice small changes in the first 4 weeks but this isn’t a quick fix diet that’s going to miraculously get you where you want to be in only the first 30 days, maybe not even 90 but it will set you up with some great skills to carry on with.
What it is, is building your strength up, fuelling your body (getting all the good stuff in) and teaching you portion control. These things take time, your body has to adjust to this new regime that you’ve thrown at it all of a sudden. It all happens with consistency, continuation, progression and you will get there.
I started off struggling with doing the workouts with 2kg dumbbells (when I felt everyone was using heavier than me), not being able to do a press up even on my knees (when I felt everyone was mastering the full press ups), it took me way past the plan before I could do a whole press-up, sweating just walking up stairs.

Feeling so grateful today. This time three years ago @thebodycoach posted my first set of 90dayplan results and I couldn’t believe the reaction. Back then I didn’t even have an Instagram account. I set one up and he tagged me and within 24 hours I had over 8,000 followers. .
I’ve now not only lost a stack of weight and kept it off, I’ve become a Kettlebell athlete and qualified for the England Team and recovered from eating disorders using the principles of his plan coupled with my own mindset principles and I have a best selling book dedicated to Joe. .
Yesterday I celebrated my first 150 Coaching clients. I changed my career last year and most of my clients have come from the amazing followers I have online. Without Joe, I honestly believe none of this would have happened. He paid it forward, sharing my story and it’s totally changed my life. I’ll always be grateful to this amazing man and today I just want him to know that.

Looking through some pictures recently and I came across one I’d never seen before and it honestly shocked me.
.
I’d never really worried about my how I looked but when we decided to have children my attention turned to being in the best possible health to conceive, deliver safely & raise our sons.
.
I wasn’t overweight growing up, eating home cooked food which included bread & pasta every single day.
.
I’ve never been a junk food junkie, I just ate too much. It was that simple and over the years I tried all the diets with their mystical ways to repackage calories into different dietary units which made me think I needed them & their magic to succeed.
.
I also tried taking food out of the equation by having diet shakes, soups & bars. But what happened when I lost the weight and walked off into the sunset having learned nothing about how to eat? I gained it all back.
.
In recent years I got on top of my weight problems. Some of you will know that I graduated from #the90dayplan by @thebodycoach in 2017 & I’m approaching the end of my studies to qualify as a #MNU certified nutritionist.

Having spent my adult life in plus size clothing I know what it’s like to struggle with weight loss & regain, but I know & appreciate what it takes to achieve & maintain change without giving up foods I enjoy.
.
I don’t create content, share food I make for myself & family. Food for me is something to be shared & enjoyed so it didn’t make sense to eat foods while dieting that I didn’t like or would normally eat.

This page has always been about my journey while raising a young family & the food I make. Healthy food comes in lots of different forms but I like mine to be the Clark Kent of diet food, ordinary looking at first glance but hiding superpowers underneath!

1 year on (long post alert). On Black Friday last year I signed up to @thebodycoach Plan and started the plan on 4th December 2017. I didn’t have any particular goals in mind, I wanted to get out of the rut I had gotten into, I felt tired, exhausted, felt fat and unhappy with myself. I wanted to start the Plan as soon as possible so started the Monday after it arrived.
I made sure I set aside time to prep my meals, had healthy snacks ready and during the Plan did nearly all my workouts from home. I tried to ensure I did 10,000 steps alongside my training and trained 5 times a week.
I started off with just 2kg dumbbells and found these a struggle at first but persisted, increasing when I felt comfortable. When I graduated at the end of March I went back to the gym with my new found strength excited to be able to start lifting weights properly. I thank @newbodyplan for producing a book of 8 weeks of structured workouts that were easy to follow. I have continued to lift weights and finish each session with a HIIT element for a high calorie burn and get that heart rate high.

3st 1lb / 19.3kg in weight (11st 10 to 8st 9lb)
11 inches off my waist
8 inches off my hips
6 inches off my chest
5 inches off my thighs
2 inches off my arms
Size 14 down to size 8
Coming off high blood pressure tablets after being on them for over 20 years.
I’m asked ‘what’s next for you?’ Honestly, just to maintain my level of fitness and now my target is to up the weights and see whether I can achieve more definition.
I really didn’t imagine I would achieve as much as I did in a year, I’m proud of it! It just goes to show that if you’re consistent in your approach and strive to progress that it is all possible.
