Day 2/3 of 10 hours getting my blood drawn & fingers poked every 15 mins to check the accuracy of Abbot’s Freestyle Libre glucose sensor. The studies suck and my hands hurt after from all the finger pricks, I feel like shit from having my blood sugar forced high for an hour then dumped to under 50. But it’s so worth it though when I look up #type1diabetes and see all the posts of devices I’ve been part of the clinical trials for. Or when I see people out with one of these sensors (I’ve done dozens with Abbot, Dexcom, Tandem, & Medtronic) out in public. Diabetes sucks, today sucks but hopefully this is making life just a tiny bit easier for someone out there.

Ayer sentí satisfacción al verme allí arriba, para mi ha sido un año de superación, no es sólo un año de dieta y entreno. Ha sido un año de puras matemáticas, de ajustes de insulina, de olvidos controlados (gracias a @insulclock) , de conteo de raciones, de subidas pero mucho más de bajadas de glucosa, de cardios abandonados, etc. . En definitiva un año de LUCHA. Soy consciente de que mi cuerpo no puedo llevarlo tan al límite como el resto y a veces eso da impotencia, porque te genera dudas ¿y si...? . Pero ¡NO! Si tu estas leyéndome y tienes diabetes no te cuestiones, tener diabetes implica tener más cuidado, ir a veces más despacio pero...siempre diré que es la mejor manera de disfrutar del camino y apreciar el paisaje. No corras, camina y paso a paso conseguíras todas tus metas. Tropieza y vuélvete a levantar. Pero nunca desistas, recuerda que tenemos una enfermedad pero no estamos enfermos. . Ayer en el campeonato estaba alta y eso solo lo sabíamos mi diabetes y yo, un pinchazo y listo... No te avergüences jamás de lo que eres y lo que tienes, y siempre que algo te cueste el doble recuerda que el cansancio es temporal pero la satisfacción dura para SIEMPRE. Quatrième médaille dans la poche! Dur dur car pluie tout le parcours mais un record personnel battu en 4h11 pour 44km parcourus (envie d'arriver pour se mettre au chaud). Une organisation très carrée, beaucoup de bénévoles, aucun déchet laissé au sol... ils se jetaient dessus pour ramasser le moindre tube de gel. Parcours bien sécurisé, environ 91m de dénivelé. A refaire par temps plus clément, une super expérience. ¿Que qué es para mi la diabetes? . Para mi #midiabetes, ha sido una segunda oportunidad. Porque sin ella nada hubiera cambiado. Fue mi aliciente para convertir mi debilidad en mi mayor fortaleza, me hizo valiente, me enfrentó a mis miedos, me enseñó a decir NO DEBO, pero sobre todo a decir SI PUEDO. "Perdí en salud" pero gané en conocerme mejor a mi MISMA, me aportó un desarrollo personal y también profesional consiguiendo hacer de mi enfermedad un medio de vida. . Me hizo tener una ética definida, para poder tomar decisiones con relativa facilidad entendiendo mis prioridades, y valorar que las adversidades sólo pueden convertirnos en mejores personas. .
