My little boy had his mood swings, but was not very difficult to manage as I had feared him to be .. he cooperated many a times and In fact i even caught him following the Namaz gestures along with the Jama'at.. which was pretty cute. . #mashallah . When I first made my page public, (January 2018), my main reason was to share things about me, my journey of exploring this country (as pretty much a local), about my party styling, and most importantly about my travel stories as a family - travel stories with my toddler! . . I did not know that this blogger community was big in the UAE - forget big, slowly I realised it's actually pretty huge & so so competitive ! I'd be totally lieing if I said I didn't have days when i'd get bogged on by the numbers - seeing my counterparts' stats increasing rapidly while I was at a snail's speed (lol). . . Many complained about influencers buying off followers..but I stayed there quiet thinking "Oh well.... that's up to them" - I tried my best to stay away from any drama *each to their own* ... i howeber just couldn't get myself to doing it because for some odd reason I felt I would just be cheating myself .. (jo karte hain, I'm not pointing fingers at them either !) . . Even today there are times when I wonder why is it that I haven't managed to cross my target milestone, but then I try and dust that thought off - because I know one thing for sure - this platform for me is not my primary focus in life.. & definitely not my source of income. I shouldnt be competing. I remind myself that i started it because I love social media, I love interacting with people, I love sharing stories - not because I wanted to monetize it ! I continue to grow at a snail's speed but I try to be true to myself - I continue to create aesthetically appealing post for you and my feed (or so i think!) - I engage with you guys and I enjoy that. . . Who doesn't like the numbers ? Ofcourse i do too! But let's try and not let this platform drive you crazy? Don't let it depress you!! Comparison isn't bad but only if you take it in a healthy way to learn and improve, not if it frustrates you! If it does, sit back, and think! What is your main purpose? :) I do that too & then I'm content !
