“I met a group of Masai boys on my way to Tarangire in Manyara region. The had completed ‘Emorata’ a circumcision rite of passage. During this process they are meant to endure pain when they get the cut as expression of pain brings dishonor.
•
After the ceremony they first paint their bodies using a solution made from the ashes of a burnt tree, mixed with melted sheep fat to make a thick solution that they use to apply on their bodies. These young king become warriors after their circumcision and are meant to protect the community. A great responsibility that they must take very serious.”

“..Apparently farmers are supposed to be poor, ill smelling and illiterate. I was told that we shouldn’t degrade ourselves so much as to touch the ground we walk on. Hmmm..I still don’t get it. It’s hard to understand the logic that forbids us to praise or even aspire to be like the people who feed us. I still know nothing about farming, but I know this; if one claims to be poor in these untouched fields, then poverty is a choice that I can’t sympathize with..”

NAMIBIA
Meet Nandi, It was really special and a weird feeling to be with a wild animal that actually grew up as a domesticated animal. This family adopted the cheetah at her baby stages and the photo was not taken in Etosha National Park, but near, as you are not allowed to be out of your car.
It has been brought to my attention that this picture can promote the wrong attractions, which is absolutely true. I absolutely don’t encourage any of the touristy attractions where animals get drugged/not well treated to be taken a ride on, taken photos with or worse, hunting. Before getting in contact with animals like this, always make sure if it is a place that is respectable with animal conservation and protection, even for some zoos you visit. Wild animals sure belong in nature, but those like Nandi who grew up with humans and are domesticated are at a very good place and secured in their environnement
