Aboard the RMS Queen Mary Hotel Ship , early dinner from The Promenade Cafe. Chicken tortilla soup with tortilla chips & housemade chips (latter is more of a thick kettle chips). The soup is as thick & chunky as homemade minestrone soup. Ordered the C-Club sandwich with thick slices of turkey, toasted bread loaded with bacon & veggies. I had to compact down the sandwich it was so thick! Cream brûlée for desert. Earlier before brunch, I had a mild digestive disorder & again took prepatory medication just in case for dinner. There’s another two(2) weddings today & a high school group staying for awhile. Leaving the hotel today for LAX, which is literally next door. Those unusual columns light up in the early evening. They are undergoing a massive construction with upgrades, so the arrivals area is a mess. There are hundreds of passengers in the on demand area (Uber, Lyft) waiting by a tiny “G” sign (not shown). Departure is not an issue though. Made it through the TSA checkpoint with imaging (scanning), luggage check (my Goal Zero powerbank which they thought was a tablet), & a pat down. New 2019 time: 42minutes vs 2018 45minutes. United is at it again. I began at Gate82 & 15minutes ago without any announcements (except on their app), changed to a new Gate, 75B (Upper Right). Luckily I was able to ride on their United golf carts. It’s a long walk. When I arrived at Gate 75B, a couple missed their flight there because they had come from another gate like me. I can understand that United maximizes seating although on my flight to LAX earlier, it wasn’t full. This constant changing seems perfectly normal to the United front desk personnel with passengers missing their flights erupting in anger. The Coca Cola Bottling Plant @ 1414 S Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90021. Designed by Robert Derrah in the Streamline Moderne style, it was built into the shape of a boat circa 1939. I stayed around for awhile to photograph the sunset around the facility. ENNIS HOUSE, 2607 Glendower Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027, designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1924. Over 6200square feet in size, it is composed of decomposed granite formed with 27,000concrete blocks, giving its unusual exterior texture. Built for Charles Ennis, the home was rescued from deterioration by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
