Most people clear out their fridge in preparation for a holiday, but we are stocking up! We are off to Gran Canaria tomorrow, we are self catering due to the boys multiple allergies and so have packed up some food to take with us. My intention is to buy fresh fruit, veg and meat when we get there to prepare meals back at the apartment for the boys. Gran Canaria is in the EU and so the rules regarding labelling and packaging are the same as here in the U.K. When we were there last year, we took our translation packs with us to the supermarket, the allergens are in bold on the packaging, and so this made it easy for us to identify what was in different products, just as we do here. We found that everyone we came across was so willing to help us in finding safe foods to eat. I was breastfeeding last year and so was also on a very restrictive diet, we found lots and lots for us to eat I am aware that this isn’t the healthiest of food hauls to share, but we won’t be able to just nip somewhere for a treat ice cream or have cake for pudding and so I think it is just fine Edited to add, I bought Oatly Barista even though we usually have Oatly Whole now. This is because it has a ring pull as well as a lid and it doesn’t need to be refrigerated until it is opened

The research shows that parents, mums especially, of children with food allergies suffer with mental health issues partly due to the unpredictable nature of reactions. I find it is what constantly keeps me on my toes, and when I’m not with the boys, checking my phone and waiting for something to happen. Teddy came home from the hospital last night and seems a little better. The follow up care in our area is great and the community team will be coming out to see him today so that is all very reassuring. Thank you for everyone who sent me a message last night, this really is lovely community

It’s my middle son’s birthday! (Scroll to see the cute kiddo!) . Though he has asthma and allergies to peanuts and all tree nuts—he is SO much more than that. . He’s a beyblade lovin’ best hug giver that is quick to apologize and is great at sharing.
