Today marks our 1 year wedding anniversary and 7 years together! We celebrated with a staycation in Stillwater, my hometown, and where we got married last year! This year has been a rollercoaster and we’re so glad we got to do it together ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In our first year of marriage we travelled to St. Lucia, North Carolina, Milwaukee, Chicago, London, Rhinelander, Cabo, and Denver. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Started Financially Engaged. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Paid thousands towards medical expenses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Adopted a puppy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Became debt free by paying off student loans.‍ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Continued saving for retirement, a down payment for a house, and a car. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fundraised over $13,000 for a charity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Celebrated our friend's and families biggest milestones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It hasn't all been easy, but the one thing that did NOT add stress to our lives this year was financial concerns, because we had a plan and were prepared for emergencies. Thank goodness for that, because with the curve balls that life threw at us, we don't think we would have been able to add that stressor on top of everything else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And this is the whole point of Financially Engaged.
