I wanted to share Maxi's asthma journey so far in the hope it might help a fellow Mum who might be going through the same thing or for those who have had first hand experience with childhood asthma - I would love to hear your own journey Doctors don't usually diagnose a child under under 6 with asthma. It's been quite a frustrating and exhausting journey for the past 15 months. At 4 months old Maxi suffered his first bout of bronchiolitis along with parainfluenza and spent a couple of nights in hospital. Ever since then - we have been in and out of hospital because as soon as Maxi gets sick he develops bronchiolitis or croup along with wheezing and struggling to breathe. Hospital visits became the norm for us and it was damn exhausting. It was the same routine every time at the hospital. Ventolin bursts followed by a dose of steroid to help with his airwaves and back home with 4 hourly doses of ventolin Not only was it tiring to go to hospital at all hours of the night, spend hours or sometimes over night with very little sleep - it was also hard to watch Maxi crying as he constantly gets prodded and checked and held down so we could give him his dose of ventolin, oxygen or steroid. The crying, kicking and screaming was always hard to endure Even when we routinely saw GP's and peadetrician's - still nothing was done to really help him and we just had to go through the 'norm' as much as it put a lot of stress on the family. Until finally one night the last time Maxi ended up in hospital and admitted overnight for again another episode of croup along with being unable to breathe properly - I had a Mum watching as she saw Maxi kicking and screaming as we tried to give him ventolin. She came over with a knowing look and said "my son went through the same thing at his age. It's so tough to watch..." I looked up at her exhausted and said "how did you cope? I'm so exhausted by this" and from there she literally helped changed our lives, especially Maxi's She recommend the peadetrician that her son sees (who specialises in childhood asthma and respiratory problems) and said as soon as they put him on preventative asthma medication (contd in comments)

As sure as the seasons change, my sinus troubles flare up. I spent whole years of my life hopped up on a list of allergy/sinus meds/inhaler/nebulizer... they left me tired, irritable, lethargic and with an insanely dry mouth. ‍♀️ once after giving myself an EpiPen shot the doctor in the ER asked how I was feeling and I told him about all the awful side effects of my meds and his response was “Yes, but you can breathe” HUH? Dude I just told you I’m lethargic and moody and basically a zombie... why am I trading one illness for another? ‍♀️ • My allergist who I’ve been with for years was actually the first person to mention essential oils to me. He told me he thought they would help but wasn’t sure where or how to get them. A quick google search landed me on amazons page and within a few clicks I found some Lavender and Peppermint (what my Dr. recommended) and they arrived... they helped, some. But not enough to actually feel a difference. And certainly not enough to stop taking any medications. Then I met @oldhamadventures and she introduced me to @doterra and my world changed. I now only take medication when the pollen counts are in the orange/red zone. I’m no longer tired/lethargic/irritable etc. and I honestly think back to that girl years ago and don’t even recognize her. She was severely overweight and tired all the time... she didn’t enjoy life and all it had to offer because her allergy medicine kept her in bed all the time. • I’m so thankful I found something that not only works... but works BETTER!
