@fititin30 tagged me on this push up challenge. I was supposed to do 40 push ups in 60 seconds or under! . At the end of my workout today was a 3 minute push up test so here is the first minute! . I think it was 30ish. I cant get 40 that fast. Maybe I could get when I'm fresh and maybe not!! . What it comes down to is... dont wait for the perfect time, give it your best and its only a failure if you let it be a failure. Realize they are lessons and you will be on the up real quick. . Anyone else have a challenge for me. As long as the risk of injury does not out weigh the fun... I'm down. . Have a happy and safe 4th! Here is the breakdown of one of our lift, carry, drags for our Hockey athletes. A1 squats for 6 reps A2 pull-ups AMRAP A3 thick grip carry A5 thick rope pull A6 Prowler push Rest 90 seconds to 2 minutes depending on level of conditioning. Repeat for a total of 6 to 8 rounds. And again the number of rounds is determined on the athletes level of conditioning. FYI he did 8!!! So, yea his conditioning is off the charts!! Fun fact: This athlete is here due to conditioning issues. Wait?!! What?!?!? Yep, you read that right. I’ll try to keep this short. In a nut shell he has asthma. I assumed his asthma was bad like mine, I was wrong. First I want to point out his strength and conditioning coach in BC has done an exceptional job! He has been working on CJ’s breathing technique (I won’t go into the ankle mobility this coach has been doing. But I will say thank God for coaches like this one! Thank you Coach!!). So the foundation is already laid down for me! All we need now is to find and adapt a breathing technique to fit when the proverbial shit is hitting the fan. After only two sessions I believe we have found it!!! Dont lie about I have been guilty of this too. Far less than i used to but I'm only an imperfect human just like the rest of us. . Can perfection be obtained Hell no.... but the pursuit for perfection is a journey worth while. . While you are sitting there watching everyone with their "nice" lives they may very well be looking at you wishing they had what you have. . The grass is never greener, life is tough and we often take for granted what is already good in our lives based off of social media and other putting on a pretty good front to hide their miseries. . Make the most of what you got and be YOU. Exercise, eat good, work your ass off for your dreams and love the shit out of the people that show love back. . This is how I eat most of the time. Right now being on the AST Paleo-Ish challenge REAL foods is ALL I will be eating. . If there is one place you should not bargain shop for the lowest price it's with your food. . Yea look for deals all day but DO NOT go for low quality. . The food you put into your body on a consistent basis is EVERYTHING. . I am not saying never eat some junk. BUT I am saying you need to be how often you do put junk in your mouth. . I have seen in myself and clients... fat lost, aches and pains disappear and an over all improvement on how we feel in general. . It will also impact you later in life. I am not trying to go out sick, tired and in poor spirits. . I know nothing is guaranteed but I am going to give this body it's best chance to fight off disease and everything else. . You can go through the pain of starting to eat well and exercise now OR you can just straight up suffer later while your loved ones watch you in pain too. . That is real talk right there. A couple things to note on this bench! . Slight decline to change the angle and avoid over use injuries. . Bands on the bench so I can dig in my shoulder blades so I dont slide and can stay tight! . Feet pulled back and solid into the ground. . Shoulder blades squeezed down and back the whole time with my chest reaching to the ceiling. . A bit of an arch in my lower back. . Abs and Ass are fully braced and squeezed to build a solid foundation to press from. . Control on the way down. Think about rowing the weight down. . The bar slowed down but wasnt too much of a grinder. . I may not put up the numbers I used to but.my shoulders feel 10 times better, I still feel strong and my body can move better than ever. .
