Okay so most amount of questions I get in my DMs are all about backbends.
And how to get them deep and beautiful.
This does go against the very morals of yoga BUT us humans want to test our limits and see how far we can go. (Me included)
Problem is we all get so caught up on being as open as possible it seems ridiculous to most that strength actually helps flexibility and most important a HEALTHY back is one that’s not only mobile (notice I use mobile not flexible ) but strong too.
So PLEASE, don’t just focus on the opening of your body but the integrated strength to create a balanced practice!

To backbend is to expand of the body's anterior place (think: equal and opposite reactions), so tightness in your abdomen, thighs and hips might be impeding your practice. Two steps for a better, safer backbend practice:
.
Step one, find your ASIS (anterior superior iliac spine), the bone projection situated just above the femur when seated. Now, project your whole pelvis forward, sliding the ASIS first up to the sky as you send your sacrum, the triangular bone between the lumbar spine and the coccyx, towards the ground. If you can imagine your pelvic floor as a wide-brimmed bowl filled with, say, melted ice cream, work to lift the front rim (that is, the ASIS) towards the sky so much that the liquid begins to gently cascade over the rear lip (that is, the sacrum) towards the ground. We call this a posterior tuck.

Step two is to warm and stretch the complicated muscles of the axial core, the thighs (the vasti and rectus femoris) and the inner hip (ilipsoas). It takes a while.

Hold a hollow body Low Boat for 20 breaths (pausing as needed) and practice a few rounds of one-breath Bicycle twists. Next, sit for ten breaths (or longer) in: Virasana, Kapyasana, Malasana, Anjaneyasana, Ardha Chandra Chapasana, Natarajasana, Laghu Vajrasana, Eka Pada Rajakapotasana A, Gomukhasana A, and Agjnistambasana.

Now that you’re exhausted, you're finally ready to backbend.

Bonus tip: Next time you practice Wheel or Bridge, hold and squeeze a block between your inner thighs. (Don't have a block? Imagine you're holding a balloon instead and squeeze your thighs in--they don't touch, but remain the width of the hips--as though you mean to pop the balloon.) This adduction will activate a slight internal rotation of the hip points, which in turn will laterally stretch at the lumbar. Remember: equal and opposite reactions on the body's opposite plane.

Next day she was trying to repeat everything we did without me and when it was time to smell the feet, she said “smelling the kitty” check in stories to see yoga poses she came up for her dolls And if you dont have kids yet, send it to a friend with kids or borrow one

I only realised that I hadn’t been practicing this flow for 6 months Time really flies I wish I could say pincha kick-over is like riding a bicycle. It is not! Apparently, my muscles memory isn’t very good Took 3 attempts before I got this one-take kick-over. The other 2 attempts, I had to kick 2-3 times before I could successfully kick over to the other side. It is not called yoga practice for nothing. One really has to keep up with a consistent practice (writing this to remind myself ).
Do you hate confrontation?

If so, you’re not alone. I absolutely HATE confrontation to the point that I have a hard time saying NO. I try to avoid it at all costs, saying yes to people, things and situations simply because I don’t want to disappoint anyone. But in the end, I would find myself frustrated, disappointed and hurt simply because I committed myself to something that didn’t feel aligned with my intuition. And the only person I had to blame was me.

However, little by little, I’ve come to realize how empowering it is to say NO. This past month, I’ve said NO to underpaid jobs, one-sided relationships and unwanted dinner dates. I’ve never felt happier, freer and more at peace than I’ve ever felt before.

What I’ve come to realize is that saying NO is the ultimate expression of self-love. Each time we honor our gut‘s feelings of YES and NO, we begin to align ourselves with our Higher Purpose. We discover a quiet, unshakeable confidence within the depths of our souls that extends beyond external validation. We no longer worry about pleasing others; instead, we tap into the Universal power that lies within each and every single one of us, raising our vibration to the frequency of unconditional love
