What a change! The sun is shining and the cows have taken a break again so we can catch up. This one was taken when we had a bit more snow, but it is too cute to not share. This girl is going to turn heads!

What a gorgeous day yesterday, spring has arrived!! It has been a busy couple weeks, as you have probably noticed from the Instagram silence. The cows decided to take a break from calving for a day, but they are starting back today.

All the pressure of getting in fields in before the rain and we now get to carefully watch the wheat, grass and alfalfa sprout. The satisfaction of seeing our hard work pay off. Now, if the rains can continue and the sun shines in between, we will hopefully get a decent crop.

This guy is always looking curious. He never fails to stand out from the other calves so that we won’t miss him. He is full of personality, I am sure he keeps his mom on the alert.

How do you embrace the new season? It’s sometimes been my nature to reflect on the past and linger there for a while. As we begin to embrace the new season, I find myself thinking about what I will miss and how time moves too fast. How is it almost May already? In that spirit, I’m challenging myself to be more mindful of the time as it passes. What about you, friend?

The air was crisp when we walked to the barnyard this evening to do chores. The north wind was causing the flag to flutter quickly in the wind and the boys wanted to make sure their jackets were done up with their hats on. It was time to feed grain and hay to the cattle in the barnyard, feed two bottle fed lambs their evening milk and treat a cow that has a uterine infection. No complaints from anyone though, the fresh air feels nice before bedtime!

Remember in school when the principal would come over the classroom loudspeaker to make an exciting announcement? Well get THAT excited because Friday is here! We are doing more deliveries in Kamloops tomorrow, we have ground beef, and mixed bags and boxes of beef available! Seeeee? I knew it would be a good announcement!
