Congratulations to all the Man & Woman of the Year candidates. We raised $458,498.84 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Midlands SC in just 10 weeks!!!! Although I didn’t win, my team and I worked for a worthy cause and I’m so grateful for everyone who donated to #BeatBloodCancer. Thanks again everyone and congratulations to the Woman of the Year and my new friend, Jan Jernigan ❤️ #MWOTY #BeatingCancerIsInOurBlood #GrantUsACure
Hi! My name is Racheli and since I’ve recently welcomed some new bright humans into my community here on Instagram, I figured I’d make a #FridayIntroduction to welcome in the weekend!
I’m a 25 year old patient advocate, motivational speaker and fundraiser. A big part of my life story is that I was diagnosed with cancer at age 21. In the wake of my diagnosis, I chose to thrive and overcome adversity with positivity! I hope to continue to share how I work through Life After Cancer and this thing we call a New Normal, by continuing to share and set an example for how we can take something so horrible and work to make this world better. If having cancer taught me one thing, it’s that this world and everything we do is SO MUCH BIGGER than ourselves. We truly have the power to change outcomes and experiences with our mindset and the choice to take action. ✊ Cancer aside, I consider myself an introverted extrovert. I thrive off of human interaction and LOVE hosting and creating community. There are definitely days when I energize on some solo time that is filled with TV/Movie time, meditating, journaling and sleep. As a Florida girl, I also love all things #funinthesun. I have a doggie that my husband, Adam, and I rescued! We named him Sylvester, after the cancer center I was treated at! I am plant based and live an environmentally conscious & mostly non-toxic life. I write a lot about this via other platforms on the interwebs. To learn more about what all that means, just google Racheli and Non-Toxic! ♻️ I’m so excited to continue to grow this community and engage with you as we discover life and what we can do in the wake of adversity. I hope that you’ll stick around for the dog pics, cancer throwbacks, new normal celebrations and all that comes in between! P.S this beautiful pic was taken by @neubekphotographers
Oh man. The @leukemialymphomasociety #MWOY gala is here!! I can’t even describe how crazy the last 10 weeks of my life have been. So many events, so many emails, so many phone calls, so many AMAZING people helping along the way. I can’t thank all of my friends and family enough for being such an amazing support system. And this guy right here? @keith_snyder has taken the brunt of alllllll of my mood swings, fits, rants, and more. I love you to the moon and back. Thank you for being my partner in crime♥️ .

Bella’s Bright Lights | At age 3, Bella was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Bella's Mom says: Looking back at when this journey started, it kind of feels unreal. Life can change in an instant. For us, that moment was on September 2, 2016. Bella had been having fevers on and off for two months with no other symptoms, and medicine was barely keeping them down. After more tests were done, it was confirmed that Bella had leukemia. After being in treatment for a little over two years, our brave and beautiful Bella is a happy 5-year-old who just finished her last treatment on November 10, 2018.

Words seem too insignificant to express my gratitude to EVERYONE that helped team #BPositive raise $33,926 for the @leukemialymphomasociety and turning that into my new title as Savannah’s Woman of the Year.
This is a total team effort and can not be obtained solo, my team was made up of the most selfless, giving and talented individuals I have come to know and love in Savannah. Our networking and events brought so much awareness and community involvement and your action to DONATE just extended our neighbors life.
Thank you for all the love and support!!! #mwoy #savannahga #fightingcancertogether #beatingcancerisinourblood
On Saturday Night everything we have been working so stinking hard for came to an end. The Man & Woman of the Year Campaign ended with an amazing event called Grand Finale, and I am HONORED AND AMAZED and what my team and I did! Not only did we walk away with the Woman of the Year title, but we were able to raise over $78,000!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Collectively all of the #mwoy candidates raised over $409,000!!! What a magnificent endeavor to be apart of. The entire evening was a blast, and I was so blessed to share it with so many whom I love! To have their support throughout the entire campaign was my driving force; in addition to my passion for finding a cure in honor of my husband, and to continue to fight for something my sister was also passionate about!I was also awarded the “Mission Incorporation Award”, which is given to the candidate who best incorporated the Mission of @leukemialymphomasociety throughout their campaign. What a tremendous honor, and I am truly HUMBLED by all of the support you all have given me the last 10 weeks. Literally EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR raised makes a difference, so THANK YOU for coming alongside me, believing in me, and GIVING to this amazing organization! Together, we can END Blood Cancer! Also, I didn’t take ANY pictures all night, so I’ve had to steal everyone else’s! #fightbloodcancer #teamthewilltowin #beatingcancerisinourblood
