Do you know your cost per service? - Do your prices reflect your experience? - Have you given yourself a pay rise in the last 6-12 months? - These are questions we asked a local Lash Artist last week and it sparked topics around pricing and having the confidence to charge your worth. We were horrified to hear this particular Lash Artist was selling herself short, once we worked out her cost per service vs what she was making, we realised that she was making $10.00 per hour, LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE. In an industry that isn’t regulated, where anyone can do Eyelash Extensions, it’s really important for those of you investing in top education, are charging accordingly and aren’t apologising for it. If clients are questioning your prices - let’s be real! They’re not the clients you want. Don’t base your prices on what the salon down the road is charging - be confident in your knowledge and ability, know your cost per service and charge what you know you’re worth. If you’re investing in ongoing training, you should be applying increases based on your new expertise. If you were a customer service rep turned supervisor - you’d expect an increase in wages right? This is no different, if you’re dedicating your time and money into your education to ensure you bring the highest quality of services to your clients, your return should reflect that. This is something we’re so passionate about and go into great detail in the business part of our training. They know they’re a great promotional tool for me, a snapshot of my hard work and dedication in getting their lashes looking exactly how they want (sometimes a few moderations are made during their consultation ya’ll know what I’m talking about, ain’t no one needing those 15mm lashes ). - I’m curious...... I WANT TO KNOW! - Here are a couple of Photography Tips for those struggling: - Make sure you have good lighting - Take A LOT of photos from a few different angles - Make sure lashes are brushed!!! - Check the photos you’ve taken before you let your client leave (there’s nothing worse than spending hours doing a beautiful set and not being able to showcase it) - Tag someone who needs to take more photos of their kickass work!

Hi! This is @lynngilmartin, co-founder of Tulum Tan. As a red-head, I have spent half my life using self-tan. What I learned is that a rapid tan is a rapid cheat to toning. It evens out your skin tone and helps disguise unwanted bumps and blemishes while contouring your shape in all the right places. The night before stepping out in this dress, I put on a coat of Tulum Tan Chocolate Mousse all over my body, which I rinsed off after three hours. I then applied a second coat that morning for a deeper colour. Once dressed, I finished off with a little shimmer dust for added light-reflecting tricks and voila, I had myself a natural-looking bronzed back to compliment my red velvet dress.
