1. Pre Pass Position ✅.
.
- The Good.
This quarterback does a good job of starting in a relaxed position with his elbows down at his sides. Eyes are downfield and the weight is back on his back foot.
.
- Room For Improvement
He needs to start with a wider base. Ideally, his feet would be slightly outside his shoulders. This player is also starting with his shoulder tilted up which will put him down the rabbit hole of trunk instability. This means missing high on throws.
.
2. Loading/Cocking Phase ✅.
.
- The Good.
This quarterback does a good job of opening his shoulder to this 90/90 position at the shoulder and the elbow. Also does a good job of opening the front foot to the target so he can get his hips into his throws. .
- Room For Improvement.
Since the left shoulder starts up, this quarterback is now loading in a shoulder tilted position and also an over extended position in his spine. This means problems when moving into the acceleration phase. You have to enter well in the loading phase to exit well in the acceleration phase. .
3. Acceleration Phase ✅.

- The Good.
The arm path looks good as he pulls the front elbow down and through while the throwing arm is coming up above the shoulder. The torso is vertical and he is throwing while maintaining full body length.

- Room For Improvement.
Over extension of the spine is very noticeable here like we talked about above. This quarterback is so used to throwing in this manner that his release point is actually pretty good. The problem is that he’s not maxing out his potential in his velocity because he’s throwing from an unstable platform. Since he started narrow in his stance, he’s not getting much drive from his back leg for power!

- The Good.
This quarterback does a good job of starting in a relaxed position with his elbows down at his sides. His base is slightly outside his shoulders which is perfect. .
- Room For Improvement
The left shoulder is slightly up his stance. The ball is being held slightly in front of the cocked position on the right collarbone. This could be alright though if he transfers his weight well and rotates trunk to the right before the unwinding of his hips.

2. Loading/Cocking Phase ✅.
.
- The Good.
This quarterback does an excellent job of transferring his weight back as he opens the left hip to the target. He also does an excellent job of opening the shoulder girdle on the right shoulder up while reaching with the left hand. The front shoulder isn’t popping up anymore at all with the transfer of his weight back which is exactly what we want.
.
- Room For Improvement.
It’s common for quarterbacks to lose some stability in their trunk during the loading phase of throwing. This happens slightly as the ribs flare a bit. Front planks and side planks are going to help this quarterback to stabilize more during this phase so he can maintain trunk neutrality into the acceleration phase.

3. Acceleration Phase ✅.
.
- The Good.
This QB does an excellent job of driving through the back foot and rotating at the same time. His hip doesn’t trail at all as his hips are square to his target when the ball is released. This means full energy transfer from the ground up and no trailing leg syndrome! The Good trajectory of the football is due to this ability to “get through his hips!”
.
- Room For Improvement.
He is a little over extended in his low back which is going to make it tougher when making deep throws or throws after taking rhythm drops. Instability in the trunk will always result in high throws or improper strategies in creating power, especially on deep throws. That’s why over striding is so prevalent on deep throws. (Cont. Battle rope alternating waves until the tire reaches you, then aggressively push to roll the tire away from you. Repeat this until you are unable to pull the tire all the way to you. Then flip the tire double the number of times you pushed the tire.

I was able to push the tire 3 times, so I flipped it 6 times. I did this circuit 10 times through. *Parts of the video were sped up*
