#chooseused . When you find a fabric you’re absolutely in LOVE with but you thrifted it at @savers_thrift and will probably never find it again, it’s very bittersweet. . . I found a set of 5 beautiful mustard gold hand towels that are about 16” x 16” and they’re in excellent shape - it’s as if someone never used them. . I’m really excited about exploring more ways to give second-hand items a second (or maybe third) life by adding a block printed pattern or element to the fabric, just like this one - join me on my growing mission as I post these items with #blockprintedthrift . *no new art* . . and that’s ok! I’ve shifted my focus onto events within the last month and I’m prioritizing physical presence within my community, and it’s been incredible to connect with so many of you in person because I know how it important that is for our growth. However, it feels like weekend to weekend I’m scrambling to get ready for the next event, not leaving enough time to pause, consider new ideas and new work. . . I’m looking back at some older work today, and remembering this one-off tea towel that I sold to @hedhouseman . . A while back I looked into screen printing this one. I’m still in love with the pattern, but it’s very time consuming to block print multiples of it. I’ve been considering screenprinting this one, as well my other tea towel in order to make my process more efficient, bringing more space to think in different directions I’ve yet to explore. A few weeks ago I was joined by two amazing ladies @elodiegphotography and @rebeccavitale_mua on a crazy 5 hour journey to visit this flower field on the other side of the country, as these fields are open only for one week to the public, in the whole year. What a field and what a journey, I feel blessed to have been part of such a great woman only team, not to mention the designer who created this lovely ensemble also happens to be a woman on top of her game. Time consuming but so satisfying! The printing continues on this beautiful gold fabric that will I will be making into an oversized Kimono.
