N E W P E D A L D A Y: A Boss OC-2, and a gold long-tail horsie Klon, since I tossed my silver one in the recycling

Over the weekend I spent a bit of time putting together a GIANT favorites board. It’ll be a while until I have another chunk of open time to wire it up, so I tossed together a small temp board to hold me over. Been pulling in and out of it all week but I like what I got. SIGNAL CHAIN: BOSS OC-2 Octave > Klon Centaur > Ibanez TS10 (MIJ) > Snouse BlackBox 2 > Marshall ShredMaster > BOSS CE-2 Chorus (1980 Silver Screw) > MXR Phase 90 (‘70s) > BOSS DM-2 Delay > @tcelectronic Ditto X2 > @digitechfx Trio+ > BOSS ‘63 Fender Reverb > Amp I have a Ditto X4 and I like having two sets of loops, but having the X2 and the Trio+ gives me two loops + rhythm section. I go back and forth between drives for driven and clean tones, but the config that’s coming up most is TS10 pushing the BlackBox 2 in Classic Mode for drive, and Klon for cleans. Either way it’s usually the Klon or the TS10 pushing the BlackBox — you’ll notice the gain on both are almost all the way down and volumes way up. If you’re stacking drives, cutting lows and boosting mids BEFORE you start clipping the signal makes for a smoother, tighter drive. The ‘63 Reverb is there for my verbless amps — still sounds a little too much like a digital emulation to me, but I dropped the ball on pulling the trigger on a real ‘60s verb unit yesterday, so either this or a Space Echo’s reverb will have to do for now.
