E pensare che, solo qualche anno fa, l’idea di separarmi da un libro -per quanto brutto- mi risultava del tutto inconcepibile. Eppure ero troppo curiosa di provare: l’idea di scambiare o vendere dei libri che non mi erano piaciuti per fare posto a nuovi titoli mi attirava troppo. E così ho scambiato il primo. E poi il secondo. E poi non ricordo più quanti. Perché l’emozione di ricevere qualcosa di nuovo, fa completamente dimenticare quello che si è dato. Perché l’idea che un libro non abbia una sola vita, ma tante quante sono quelle di chi lo leggerà, rende ai miei occhi questo oggetto molto più potente e pieno di dignità. I libri usati sono diventati la mia più grande passione. La cultura e la bellezza devono viaggiare, devono essere economicamente accessibili, devono essere liberi. #worldbookday # this year i’d like to recommend the courage to be disliked by fumitake koga and ichiro kishimi (see p1). this book is inspired by alfred adler, the founder of individual psychology and the author of what life could mean to you, which helped me a lot when i was broken up in the end of 2016. i’m just getting started to read the courage to be disliked this morning but it’s been recommended by my friends for many times in the past three months, during which i’d gone through a lot. i was sent to a psych hospital; i took a leave for a quarter; i smoked, drank and got high everyday to escape from the betrayal by someone and was clung by an incorrect relationship... this book means a ton to me, so i’ll post the biggest takeaway of it once i finish it. i like deleting my posts bc sometimes i feel my values and emotions are growing and i gradually realize my immaturity. but this time when i look back, i agree with my opinion more (see p2&3): you never need to care about how the others think of you, and you never deserve to do it either. you’re not defined by others’ words and actions. people always like judging bc they have to live on their senses of superiority. there’re always people who don’t like you. if you’re willing to understand them and you’re sure you have the ability to protect yourself enough, then let them judge you. if not, just say good luck and let them go love themselves(see p5). don’t be afraid when you’re feeling a shadow behind you, bc that’s also when you’re facing the light. #booksharing #thecouragetobedisliked #alfredadler #betterversionofme #april23 #被討厭的勇氣

The Surrogate by Louise Jensen I was pretty excited about this novel because I have read The gift by Louise Jensen and enjoyed it so so much! Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this one at all and after a half of the novel when I was absolutely bored I just gave up. I have talked with my friend @beelovesbooks which loved this book and she told me that the end is brilliant and I should continue reading. I do believe her but I could not pressure myself to it. Maybe I just like a different types of thrillers now then what I used to! I might do a giveaway for it one day, if you would be interested guys! . . .
