Paul Roos once said good teams don’t always play well but good teams always find a way to win and that was us tonight. It was clear that we didn’t play well and for three quarters we played the Bulldogs style of game but credit to the boys they flicked the switch in the last quarter and got the four points. Our forward line played pretty well especially Cox, De Goey and Stephenson but as the game went on we started to look like the better outfit and we began to run the dogs into the ground. Our midfield was decent in patches and backline was scrappy at times but towards the back end of the game they held firm. What a woeful display by the boys and I don’t like saying that but tonight’s game was poor. Now before I get stuck into what went wrong for us tonight, can we please take a moment to acknowledge the MOST INCOMPETENT, IDIOTIC AND STUPIDEST UMPIRES I HAVE EVER WITNESSED!!! Do not sit there and tell me the free kicks were even which makes it okay when it clearly wasn’t. Some of the free kicks that should of been given to us that weren’t were just mind blowing at times and some of the free kicks that were given to West Coast shouldn’t have been free kicks at all. The umpiring weren’t even bad for both teams it was mainly us which was the shocking part. Anyway looking at the game we started of well but we should of put away multiple chances in front of goal which cost. Usually I talk well of our backline but our backline today was shocking and our midfield needed to stand up at times but didn’t.
