I'm going to New York the first week of May This trip has been on my bucket list forever. I'm going to attend @stefanieoconnell Statement Event while I'm there, and I'm so very honored that she extended me an invitation. I will be bringing my beautiful mom with me on this trip and we are turning it into a full blown mom and daughter trip. Two of the days I can deduct costs for my business, but the rest of the days are for leisure. I have decided to fund this spontaneous trip using my business savings. I will still be on a budget, and I do plan on using the cash envelope method while I'm there. This will be my second all-cash vacation. Last May, I surprised Chris with a 6-day all inclusive trip to Cabo for his 30th birthday, and using cash for my vacation budget was a complete success. I just started my research last night, and I do know that I will be buying the city pass for us. It allows you to visit 6 attractions for a very discounted package. Besides that, I'm flying by the seat of my pants. I have no clue what to expect for food or transportation costs. The hotel and plane tickets are paid for. I spent $2600 total for those expenses and grabbed the hotel and round-trip plane ticket package discount from Expedia. I will be doing a lot more research the next two weeks. DON'T GO BROKE FOR A VACATION. Don't go on a vacation just because everyone else is doing it. Kung wala pang budget, ok lang kahit walang summer outing this year friend. Hindi natin kailangan mangutang para lang makapag vacation galore. Masaya ang vacation but if it will cause us to have debts, stress naman tayo after.. sayang naman. 1. Think of fun and creative ways to spend your holiday and summer with family without spending too much. You may set up a pool, prepare a boodle fight or mag movie marathon. 2. Save early for family vacation. Months before the planned vacation, set aside na little by little from your budget. That way di naten kailangan umutang. 3. Be happy for friends and relatives who are having their family vacations and be excited that someday your family will too. (Huwag naman tayong bitter sa iba haha! Na winish natin maflat gulong nila, magLBM sana sila habang nasa vacation hahaha! Wag ganun) Vacation is a good investment in our family's core memories. Always ask yourself "what else could I do with this money". One thing husband won't give up is travel. So a compromise was in order. In just under 4 weeks we will be flying from Christchurch NZ to Australia for 7 nights on the Gold Coast. Flights and accommodation all funded by not buying our lunch during the week this year, and not getting a weekly uber eats delivery It comes down to a choice of what's important to you. And I would rather keep husband on side, and have a nice holiday, than eat crappy food court food for lunch every day! Granted, there is no Air New Zealand premium economy, works deluxe, in flight entertainment or glasses of champagne.... its Jetstar budget all the way baby!! But as long as we get there (sometimes a bit hit and miss with Jetstar ) that's all that matters. A super successful vacation! . . . We obviously paid a good amount for tickets to the Steelers game, but that is the exact reason we worked so hard to get out of debt. We want to be able to make decisions based on what we want to do, without having to worry. . Other than that, we didn’t really spend a lot at all. . The hotel and flights were free. . Everything we did other than the game was free. . The only money we spent was on food, but we cash flowed all of it. . . New Orleans is a city unlike one we’ve ever been to... a great atmosphere, amazing food, live music everywhere, the friendliest people. We had a wonderful time! . Have you been?

I'm going on a mini vacation We made the final decision last night. I have never been to a Mariners game. It's weird because my boyfriend plays baseball, I live in Spokane (which is super close to Seattle), but I just never went. So, over the last couple days, we have been discussing going to a Mariners game before the season ends. Yesterday was my first day planning the trip. We decided while we are there to also go to the zoo. When I start planning for a vacation, no matter the size, I always start by looking at ways we can save or cut costs. Usually, I save the most by looking at transportation, lodging, and food expenses first. Those are the categories that I focus a lot of my money-saving efforts. I'm still in the beginning stages of planning, but so far, I have bought our tickets to the game and booked our hotel. I posted an Instagram story detailing how we cut costs already and how we are planning to complete this whole trip for under $550. The key to doing a vacation on a budget is plan, plan, plan!
