‘The Incredulity of St. Thomas towards Modern Art’ Piece made in Ravenna, Italy for @Subsidenze Art direction & pic @bonobolabo A tribute to Alberto Burri’s “Grande Ferro R”, a site-specific steel sculpture made in 1990 for the city. Closely located to Burri’s work, the mural consists in an adaptation of the “doubting Thomas” theme, a criticism towards the current bad state of preservation and development of the Grande Ferro and therefore criticism on how it is perceived by the local administrations, as well as among common citizens. Swiss photographer René Burri is considered one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. He met Le Corbusier for the first time at the opening of the pilgrimage chapel in Ronchamp (France). The photographer subsequently became the architect’s visual chronicler. Featuring 18 original photographs, a small permanent exhibition in the Pavillon Le Corbusier reflects Burri’s view — of both Le Corbusier’s work and person.
