We’re going out on a limb here but we think @pubbrewskey serves the most incredible take on poutine because of their utterly divine house beer gravy and their “smashed” potatoes which make for those extra crispy little bits. It’s an awesome bar with some great beer, and their bacon jerky caramelized with beer, maple and chilli is like DAMMM. They also have a brand new tap room below which is HUGE and is serving up another unique menu! Before we did some shopping in downtown #Montreal we fuelled up at Cafe Myriade 1432 Rue Mackay. We had heard their brew was the best in the area, and it certainly did not disappoint. The savoury “pan au chocolat” looking pastry was AMAZING! It was actually filled with a spinach and ricotta, then topped with sesame seeds. It was delicious and a really nice change from all the sweet pastries we’d been sampling We hope to recreate it someday!

@liverpoolhousemontreal was a dream for us! The sister restaurant to @joebeefmtl with all the flavour & atmosphere, yet cosy and casual! We ate at the bar and swooned over oysters, rabbit ragu cavatelli, house cured charcuterie, their famous lobster spaghetti and halibut. For dessert we shared a cloud of perfection (meringue/marshmallow) with creme anglaise, candied orange and toasted almonds. For us, the ragu and halibut stole the show! The fish was so excellently cooked, and accompanied with a wicked aioli. We only wish we had room to try more! Highly recommend eating at the bar, a much better way to interact with the staff and have them create some incredible drinks! @olive_et_gourmando are doing everything right. Gourmet lunches for a reasonable price, with the freshest ingredients and incredible service. We tried their Mr Miami panini with Smoked beef brisket, grilled red onions, cilantro pesto mayo and jalapeño havarti cheese. Served with pineapple jalapeño chutney.It really was an incredible sandwich served on their fresh artisan bread. We also had their daily special. A shrimp salad which had such a wonderful zing, freshness and crunch from the watercress. Lots of fresh dil, pickles, lemon, olive oil and aioli with advacado. It was a super luxurious salad but felt so light. If we had this everyday for lunch we would die happy. P.s get the raz lemonade, it’s super refreshing and just like having the most freshest raspberry sorbet in a glass. We couldn’t wait for cream cheese or butter. Had to take a bite when it was still warm from the oven. @stviateurbagel you are the BEST! Fluffy but a nice chew. Started our four day food tour of Montreal with a beautiful lunch at L’Express! A classic French bistro, with impeccable service and style. We had the Croque Monsieur, a warm goats cheese salad and l’orange creme brûlée which was fantastic! Gotta have a special mention for their baguette, house pickles and mustard too, oh my! We could have sat and ate the whole jar with the seemingly endless bread.
