Hello to all my Canadian Followers ⁣ @tamarasarkisianrd @registereddietitianapproved ⁣ ⁣ Have you heard? Canada’s new Food Guide has been released today ⁣ .⁣ As a registered dietitian, I can say that I am very happy to see this new and improved document!⁣ .⁣ .⁣ Top 5 changes include: ⁣ 1) Healthy plate model vs food group categories. Filling up 1/2 your plate vegetables & fruits, 1/4 protein and 1/4 whole grains. Encouraging Canadians to eat more plant based proteins more often. Note: Meat and dairy have not been eliminated, these are to be included in protein foods.⁣ 2) Cooking more often and limiting highly processed foods. ⁣ 3) Make water your drink of choice ⁣ 4) Use food labels to make better food choices ⁣ 5) Being aware of food marketing .⁣ .⁣ I always like to stress the importance of this being a “guide” and not a personalized nutrition meal plan. If you have any questions or are looking for one on one nutrition advice DM Tamara.sarkisian@loblaw.ca ⁣
