The hardest thing you’ll do as a Catholic?
Live like one.
•
If anyone says being Catholic is easy, they’re either lying, or not living like one.
•
This faith is hard.
Forgive those who trespass against us? The ultimate “easier said than done.”
Turn the other cheek? How about tongue-in-cheek instead.
Dying to self? Dying to help myself most days.
Trust in God? Not a simple trust-fall exercise.
Fear not? Have you seen the world lately?
•
Being Catholic is challenging. It is way more than the sum of Masses, modest outfits and scripture inspired posts that often fill our feeds. It’s about sacrifice, selfless love, and handing over control.
This faith is hard. But it is so worth it.
Because the greatest thing you’ll do as a Catholic? Live like one.
“When we exercise the gifts which Christ has given us we are really saying to our fellow Christians and others: See how much the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and cares for you; He has sent me to serve you in this way; He is using my hands and feet, my lips and ears, to show His love.” - S. Ferguson
Thinking about spiritual gifts and what we bring to the table in terms of serving Christ. His love dwells in us and His grace imparts the gifts to tell others that He loves them too. We must take him into our work, whether that’s home or an office, on the phone or in the car... Share your gifts today with someone who needs it!

Last week my pastor preached a sermon that has been on my mind ever since. He was talking about prayer and the importance of a deep, intimate prayer discipline in the life of a Christian. He said, “You know, God is so SO generous. And when he answers our prayers, and he always does, he takes into account not only what we need and want right now, but he weighs his answer in terms of what benefits our whole life the most, including our souls, our sanctification, and our path to Heaven. And sometimes when it seems like God isn’t answering the way we want him to, it’s because he knows and loves us best, and knows what’s best for us in the full picture of our happiness in this life AND our happiness in the life to come.” .
I thought that was such a powerful reminder, especially when we go through the harder stuff in life and wish God would just take it all away. He’s SO GENEROUS in giving us not only what we need now, but what we need for the long haul journey we’re on towards perfect union with him. ❤️ .

Friends that pray together stay together. So grateful to be hitting up Los Angeles with two of my best friends on planet earth! .
.
The best thing about our friendship is that we all pray and especially pray that Rosary! We each said one on our flight (because it’s too noisy to say it together) and I can’t express how awesome it is that I’ve got friends that I can pray with and alongside. .
.
Find friends that love God and love to pray! .
.
I say it a lot and I’ll say it again, pray the Rosary! .
.
Keep fighting, keep the Faith and God love you!

Today the Church commemorates the time that Mary appeared in a dream to Pope Liberius and another man foretelling a rare snowfall, and asking them to build a church at the snow’s location. And then it came true - it snowed! (In August! In Rome!) at the place where the Basilica de Santa Maria Maggiore (St. Mary Major) now stands. .
.
In a world that sometimes feels like it’s gone mad, little miracles like this are reminders that we are not alone, and we are not abandoned. .
.
With God, all things are possible. Snow in August heat. A resurrection out of ashes. Love in response to hatred. Hope in defiance of fear.
.
Keep faith, friends. God is so very, very near.

P.S. Has anyone seen a light halo like this in their photos before? The lighting here was natural, and not photo-edited. So beautiful!
St. Ann, you who trusted in God's will and gave birth to the Blessed Mother, pray with us for the ministry of Catholic family life and keep all families close to you.
-- excerpts from the novena to Saints Anne and Joachim
•
"Anne is the blessed barren woman, happy mother among mothers, from whose pure womb came forth the shining temple of God, the sanctuary of the Holy Ghost, the Mother of God!"
-- St. Jerome
•
"Joachim and Anne, how chaste a couple! While leading a devout and holy life in your human nature, you gave birth to a daughter nobler than the angels, whose queen she now is."
-- St. John Damascene

Grandparents of Jesus, pray for us!

“Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: half the babies and all the mothers.”
.
“The so-called right to abortion has portrayed THE GREATEST GIFT, a child, as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience.”
.
“The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion because it is a war against the child.”
.
“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what it wants.”
.
We stopped on our way back home at this beautiful Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John, IN. They had a lovely memorial for aborted babies, with this statue of Jesus weeping with a tiny baby in his hands. I couldn’t help but tear up. It even moved my little ones enough to wonder what was wrong, so we were able to explain to them a little more visually why we pray every day for the end to abortion, the murder of defenseless little babies. My daughter even named the baby Mary...very fitting. I think it’s time we start to spiritually adopt a child in danger of abortion, and it looks like we already found a name.❤️

St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta,
ORA PRO NOBIS, ORA PRO NOBIS, ORA PRO NOBIS❤️
Maybe you haven't received it because you haven't asked for it.
