Every day, I wake up grateful for this vessel I’ve been given to live my life. . This vessel that has carried 2 babies and given birth via C-Section twice. It now supports a belly button that sticks out if I stand an odd way or wear a thin shirt because of the second C-Section not going as planned. It gave nourishment to those babies direct from this vessel. . This vessel that as a happily married woman, still gets looks and guys wanting to chat while in a t-shirt and no makeup. . The vessel that for many years I treated poorly and picked and pulled and sometimes stuffed into clothes or spaces it didn’t deserve. And sometimes I still do that but less often. . There are days when I forget the way, and may try to compare to someone else, but I’m always grateful for this vessel. . . Body Love and Self Acceptance are things it took me at least 28 (probably more like my whole 32) years to learn to do. I believe it’s one of the pillars to success not only in business but life. . This is a short film of a challenging time in my life where it pushed me to find my purpose. It took for me to be broken to get to be whole. To be able to get to a place of vulnerability and to be able to share this with you is a place of extreme healing. I did the work and now I’m stronger, wiser, and better than I was before. I wanted to share because there are so many women and men of color that are encountering these obstacles daily but we afraid or embarrassed to discuss our emotions which causes us to not heal and pass down emotional trauma. So my platform will discuss societal issues that are taboo but we need to start healing.
