It has been 1 month today you left Violet. It feels like yesterday & it feels like a lifetime ago. I feel almost suspended in time. I still cry, from the deepest part of my heart every single day. I miss you, I miss everything about you. Pet bereavement is tough. Not everyone sympathieses with you, but this community has. Not everyone understands how hard loosing a pet, & best friend can be, but you do. I am forever changed by my bond with Violet. This last month has taught me, that all the love I had for her will live on. I wasn’t so sure when people said that in the first few days of my heavy grief. However, through beautiful acts of kindness & understanding - day after day. I have been lifted up. Thank you to ALL who have contributed to @mickey_the_senior_cavalier walk to raise money for senior dogs for @olddoghaven. Mickey’s mom has & continues to play a huge role not only in my life, with MVD, CHF, hospice care & grief & loss as a resource but also for this community as a whole. Please support her walk if you can. Words can’t express my gratitude to the ladies @thecavalierrescue for creating the most beautiful fund to honor Violet’s legacy to help rescue cavaliers in hospice. There are 5 cavaliers currently in hospice care that are benefiting from this fund. Many of these dogs suffer from CHF just like Violet. Another big thank you to the folks @cavlife for creating the cutest CAV T-shirt to honor the Violet Fund. 100% of the profit goes toward this fund & these t-shirts could not be cuter. Finally, we want to thank everyone who have continually checked in, sent flowers, cards, gifts, made donations, sent a DM, sent gifts to our other pups, sent comments of hope & encouragement. We are still reading through them all & responding. We appreciate all of it. It is because of you, we feel hopeful, we are healing we are able to pay it forward & continue to help others. Most days we are just overwhelmed by your kindness & heart. We know there has been so much loss here in the cavalier community, we are doing our part to recognize, relate & help our fellows along this path. We are honored to be included in all your thoughts prayers, love & hearts.
