This is how my morning began. I usually give this dirty job to my husband, but he is out of town. My ineptitude with the plunger led to an inch of water flooding to the bedroom and Bowen helping me turn off the toilet and then slipping on his back. All while Ruby was flipping out that she was going to be late for her 8am test and I was trying not to have a wardrobe crisis as I hastily put on a dress for my speaking engagement tonight. I then stalked the plumber by phone as I raced the kids to school. This all happened before 8am and I could only laugh. It was a messy moment and that was it. The days are always filled with these highs and lows. Just as there is no such thing as a perfect life, there is no perfect day.
