Over 20 voiunteers from an amazing organization called @vu_phl joined us at the Ruth Street Hub for a morning of giving and connecting. Volunteers made PB&J sandwiches, packed Compassion Bags full of necessities, organized the #PhillyOnItsFeet initiative, spent time outside doing a community clean up and ended with doing hand to hand outreach to our friends in Kensington. It was incredible energy as a group of selfless individuals showed up and spent time beautifying and bettering the community. Huge shout out to @vu_phl and all its awesome members who show up and make a difference! The world is a better place with all of you in it! . . . And I may or may not have had tears in my eyes as I stood by myself when everyone was gone and looked at the street and saw how it was basically spotless and thought about the amount of teamwork that went into the day all from a group of people (all of whom we never met before) that just showed up and kicked some serious ass. My heart is full this evening as I go to bed knowing that unity in community and compassion are alive and well! . . Thanks to @amyjani for some of the pics and to @itsjade_notjane @zoe_marylinthehounds @amyjani Erin and Hayley for being there and making it happen as always! . . And a huge shout out to @samspuhler for being such a great support to me and the project and making all this possible today. We will meet one day, but know I appreciate all you have done!
