I get asked a lot about how I think about the spaces I design. The most important part for me to think about is creating functionality in the garden and then secondly, an aesthetic that supports that, in creating a sense of calm. In creating this seating area I considered the lone cozy wolf time or it being used in a gathering. The materials all support the feeling of calm while the seating is a destination in the space.
