Nutty Affair ( @nuttyaffairindia ) in Vadodara, Gujarat​,​ is a premium luxury confectionery showroom designed by Fainy Thakor ( @fainythakor ) from the architectural and interior design firm called​ ​The Thakors'. The 1​,​300 sq ft glamorous space is crafted with luxurious elements in a traditional setting. # The prominent use of wood, brass and velvet printed fabric can be seen throughout the space. To keep the vibe traditional, the backdrop remains white and rustic, featuring hand-painted, brass plates. Look at this #baklava ! Every sheet of filo is crisp and distinct, not at all soggy. Baklava is only one of the wondrous confections prepared by @mansourapastries in Brooklyn. Huge thanks to @gabiwrites for taking me there and introducing me to the Mansoura family that still makes #middleeasternsweets the traditional way, even after displacements from Aleppo and Cairo. We tasted our way through the shop, though I’m showing only a handful of delights here: pistachio #kataifi subtly flavored with orange blossom water, #basbousa , #maamoul and #shabiyat , the custard still warm from the oven.
