Got you shipping container pool filled and ready to go? Your pool window might be instagram ready the first few days, but it will take a lot of maintenance to keep it that way. Not a fan of the #modpools and #tanglepools window design, but that’s a separate story. 1. Never ever clean your window with windex. A lot of pool manufacturers use acrylic, windex contains ammonia and will harm the acrylic and not be as brilliant as it should be. 2. The seals will likely need to be replaced after a couple of years as they deteriorate. You will have to take off the whole window assembly for this, 2 person job and I estimate it will cost approximately $500-1k. 3. To replace the acrylic window itself, look to spend $2-3k. I think this will be required every 5-7 years, depending on use, environment. 4. The bolts look like they may need to be retightened to a certain torque, ask your pool manufacturer what the suggested torque is. Torque wrench is approximately $150 for a decent one. 5. The bolts that hold the window in place have a major rust issue, you will need to action warranty on this before it gets worse. See my previous posts for evidence. 6. Avoid using bromine with acrylic windows. Avoid using excessive amounts of chlorine. 7. Inspect frequently for chips and scratches that can get worse from thermal shock. 8.
