It feels really good to have pulled out my canes today. I took a break because I let myself become self conscious. Someone (with only the best intentions) made a joke about how I use handstand canes but I can’t handstand. They weren’t being mean, and I laughed at the time... but later, I let that voice in my head tell me a story about how silly I was for using canes when I can’t even invert. They have sat in my room collecting dust ever since. A visit from @siebold reminded me of how much I really enjoyed playing with hand balancing and I asked myself why I stopped in the first place? Why I allowed my mind to tell me this mean story? Why I listened? Today I made the choice to ignore my mind because almost everything it says is complete nonsense and revisit something that I have a lot of fun doing... regardless of my ability to handstand or not. I love using the strength of my arms and core to move from one arm balance to another. From now on... I’m going to listen to that voice. ✨ Also currently in love with this song: Sacrilegious by Schoolboy Q!
