Last week, we got a DM from someone sharing her challenges with a conflict she was experiencing and how the HR has blatantly refused to get involved in the case even when she brought it to her knowledge to look into the disagreement.
After having a one on one coaching back and forth with her, the HR finally took the steps expected of an HR but sadly this was after the conflict has cost the company of some valuables.
___
The actions you take after the conflict as a Manager, HR or Supervisor in your workplace will determine the impact of the conflict afterward.
___
Lagos Conflict Coach believes in a holistic approach to the risks that face any company. This includes taking into consideration what we call human factors in crisis management – things like conflict resolution, stress management, and reaction management all play a role in how strong your reputation is and whether you’re capable of navigating through the tough situations that may come your way.
____
Can you remember any conflict situation that damaged a relationship you valued or a conflict that made that relationship stronger at your workplace?
We would love to hear your story either in the comment section or DM.
Each day we wake up is a day to make a change. No matter what obstacles lie in front of us, there are always ways to avoid them and come out shining even brighter on the other side.
No matter what conflict we are faced with, listen there is a positive side of that conflict.
Yes, there is something to gain from it!!

Dear Human Resource Professionals,
_________
One of your A game as an important personality in achieving your company goals is to have the ability to resolve conflicts that are an inherent part of doing business.
_________ Some years ago, a senior manager for Federal Express was asked, “What is the biggest problem you face in your operation?” Without hesitation, he responded, “Unresolved conflict.” He went on to explain this was a multidimensional issue.
_______ Examples were shared of conflicts with senior management within FedEx, between departments, among functions and individuals within his department, with suppliers and subcontractors, with operators at the sort facilities, etc. It was clear he saw the unresolved conflict as a drain on productivity and effectiveness at every level.
______ The ability to resolve the conflict must be a core competency of any successful engineering, leadership, or management endeavor. With a conflict resolution structure, you can resolve conflict to improve productivity amongst your team. ______
I am readily available to discuss how you can set up a conflict resolution in your workplace a should you not have one or you want to revive an existing one.

4. Rehearse your presentation. Make it simple and brief (5mins max). .
.
5. When discussing with your boss, highlight your achievements and commitment then ask in percentages. E.g, 20% or 30% raise. You will be sounding more professional
.
.
6. Ensure you don't sound too desperate and don't threaten to leave if you were not granted a raise, except you have another job. .
.
7. Appreciate your boss and give him/her time to look into your request. .
.
8. After your discussion, don't slow down your rate of performance, fire on. In no time, you will earn a bigger pay.
