Today I competed in my first cosplay contest at Madfest. I didn't really expect to get anything (though I hoped) but I won the judges choice award! I'm feeling pretty chuffed and I'm looking forward to competing in more competitions in the future! HERE IT IS! If you missed me and @blossomharas performance at #ichibancon, here it is! I am STILL flabberghasted that we won best in show! We went from starting out in masquerades at Ichi last year and winning NOTHING to winning this. It means so much to me and Kayla to have so much support! I am cosplaying as LEN! @blossomharas is RIN! -- Thus is also my entry for #SquishyABround2 @squishydances, under Side B: Mash-up! It's a medley of a few different Kagamine twin songs: Electric Angel, Sweet Magic (A Rin solo, which is why I stand to the back!), Toluthin Antenna, and then finshes off with Buster! I created the medley and transitions myself specifically for this masquerade. Last year we competed for the second time at Youmacon but it was our first time actually in the Masquerade! We were proud of Terra and Aqua even before the remakes but the remakes just finally gave us what we had in our head for them It was such an honor to compete these cosplays we love so much with so many amazingly talented people!! You can ask Jason I was a nervous wreck having to go back on stage for the first time in ten years but we practiced our three poses a head of time (though backwards from what the stage was LMAO) to help ease our nerves. The audience was so wonderful with their cheering and clapping even though we were close to the end of the line. Their sad exclamations for our last pose is something I will never forget! Winning Best Journeyman Craftsmanship was such a shock and such a huge honor! I still get emotional thinking about it ;-; We we’re so blessed to have the judges see something special in our work. I just still can’t function the words to express how honored and touched we were to receive such an award The whole experience of competing is so much fun - from judging to green room to the actual performance to seeing all the wonderful winners and meeting so many new people! I realize I never posted the video that @greasymoon_ took when I competed last year! Competing at fanexpo last year revived my love for cosplay after flip flopping over quitting for many months. This weekend I won best overall workmanship at @animefusioncon! I am so excited to be one step closer to my dream of being a master class cosplayer! I owe this win to a bunch of amazing people... This is actually a screenshot from the video of Youmacon’s Masquerade last year! But I really liked the angle they got of our last pose ;-; We almost cut this pose because this was before 3 and BBS is still lesser known to the general public so we were afraid it would fall flat. But the audience’s vocal reaction to it remains one of my favorite cosplay memories I’m so so excited to compete this year! While being on stage after like ten years off it still makes me nervous, this whole experience was so much fun that I can’t wait to do it again this year it really helps give me a goal and purpose to keep me driven outside of my usual love for cosplay

I forgot to post this photo of @minedoko and I's new award we've won at Katsucon 2019 Masquerade For the second year in a row, we've won the Best in Show overall award ! We were really motivated and really confident in our workmanship and we were hoping to deliver an entertaining performance. So we were hoping for it but we couldn't be sure cause many other entries had great costumes and because we hadn't seen all the presentations, it was hard to say for sure. We had great feedback from the other contestants and from people in the audience and we succeeded in mystifying them with our tricks, so it was already a win for us ^^ Seriously everyone was so nice Thank you so much again to all the judges!
