A couple of weeks ago we were invited to be guests of the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater in Central Park, NYC and were very excited to check out their new marionette theater production, Puss in Boots. It was the perfect little theater performance to enjoy with our little kids. Best enjoyed by kids ages 2 to 8, in my opinion, but really it’s a show for audiences of all ages so you can take the entire family. Looking for something fun to do with the little kids this weekend? How about a fun little outing to the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater in Central Park #NYC to check out Puss in Boots. Tickets are just $8 for kids under 12 and $12 for all others. Tickets are sold at the door, when available. Sold out! Thankfully we bought our tickets a couple of weeks ago! The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park is always a nice treat! Their latest show, Neverland - Peter Returns, is best for ages 4+8 and is running through early September. Parents should know that this is a very small theatre and children are encouraged to sit in the front and the middle, while parents are urged to sit along the sides or the back. (Kids who want to stay with their parents can sit along the sides or in the back few rows). The show is approx 50 minutes. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the park entrance at 81st and CPW. Looking for a more low key, family friendly holiday show? The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre, right in Central Park, is an excellent choice for family entertainment! They have puppet shows year round, but this time of year, they perform The Three Bears Holiday Bash, a variety show that celebrates the holiday season in song, dance, and puppetry. Performances begin next weekend (Nov 11th), and run through December 30th. All performances are during the day, and most days have several performance times to choose from. From our experience, the prime school vacation dates do tend to sell out, so be sure to buy ahead of time. Many of the other performances often sell out one or two days in advance. The Three Bears is great for all ages. Children over 18 months require a ticket. Run time is approx 60 minutes. Summer heat & all the beats. What @summerstage shows are you looking forward to?

We were drawn to this rockstar because of her sense of curiosity. Margaux Jaffa, VP of Business Development for @nelsonworldwide, and a true born and bred New Yorker “believes that the vibrancy of the city is dependent on the vitality of the people” @mjaffa88 shows up for organizations and conversations that are supporting the city and the people who live in it. New York is lucky to have her, she lends her big heart and positive mindset to making the city stronger, safer and dynamic for the people who call nyc home.

I think this was my third time seeing the ever vibrant Angelique Kidjo in the past year, and my heart grows fonder for her with every time. Her spin on the Talking Heads album Remain in Light is pure joy, and seeing her perform it, along with a string of her classics, was a brilliant way to close out the season at SummerStage. I got to see Resistance Revival Chorus for the first time in Prospect Park on Saturday, and less than a week later, they're opening for Angelique Kidjo for the last Summerstage show of 2018 in Central Park. I love how fluid the participants are. I think twice as many women were on stage today as compared to Saturday. But no matter the number present, they come together in a beautiful sea of harmony and strength. ( for @weallwantsomeone)
