✨ P R I O R I T I E S ✨ Sorting out my window display has been on my ‘to do’ list for about 3 months but it always seems to get elbowed out of the way for more urgent (usually monetised) things This week I decided that the TC windows had been a ‘to do’ and not a ‘done’ for far too long so I set myself to work creating an exciting, colourful new design filled with information about the business, aims, services and products ____________________________________ When I decided to change the way I run the space, making it a showroom/studio rather than a shop, I realised I needed the windows to do a bit of explaining....So, instead of having products displayed, I will be showing photos of the TC products and services instead and these will be the same as on the new website __________________________________ If you’ve been watching my stories over the last few days you will have seen me finger painting my windows it’s finally finished and awaiting the photos(which will hopefully be printed off this week)

✨ E X C I T I N G N E W S ✨ My last ‘exciting news’ post was all about getting my illustration work into IKEA this news is verrrrrrryyyy different _______ In case you hadn’t heard, the Eden project is coming North which is sobluminfantastic and exactly what Morecambe needs to kickstart its economy once again! We’ve all heard about the struggling retail industry in the U.K. and with great advertising pushes to ‘shop local’ and ‘support small businesses’ independent retailers are being encouraged back onto the high st BUT, in the meantime, what do we do with the rows of empty shop fronts with their shutters down? ______________________________ ANSWER: paint them ______________________________ If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I’ve been getting involved with some local landlords to decorate their shop fronts and inject some colour into the streets of Morecambe and I’ve loved it Anyway I decided to get in touch with the Eden project and submit a proposal to them to gain funding to redecorate more empty shop fronts and here’s the exciting news: THEY HAVE AGREED TO FUND THE PROJECT ✨✨✨ __________________________ S O W H A T N E X T ? I’m looking for local artists/designers/illustrators to work on some shop front designs I’ll be running a competition soon for local creatives to submit designs for the selected shop fronts and the winners will be paid to put their art onto one of the many empty shops! So if you’re a creative based in Morecambe/surrounding areas or know of anyone who might be interested please get in touch! Or if you’re a local landlord with an empty shop let me know

✨ C O U R S E S ✨ Today was the first session of the FIRST EVER Textile Candy Textile design course It’s running ‍♀️ as 4 sessions where I will be showing the attendees how to take their ideas from hand drawn illustration to printed fabric samples ➡️ _____________________________ Today we explored different mark-making techniques using a variety of different inks, pens and paints ____________________________ It’s SUPER affordable at just £25/session(£100 for the whole course) AND you get your own designs digitally printed onto fabric at the end! It’s not too late to join the July course which will be running on Tuesday evenings 5-7.30pm at the TC studio just let me know if you’re interested in coming along next week! I will be running the course again in August and September!
