Ecco io sono uno di quei tipi che è convinto che l’Italia abbia tanti di quei posti da vedere che praticamente potresti non finire mai. C’è la montagna, c’e il mare, ci sono le isole, le spiagge, i dolci buoni e anche città tipo Cremona che voi direte boh vabbè che c’è a Cremona ENVECE no perché ci sta una piazza super stiliosa con una torre giga che solo a vederla hai le vertigini figurati a salirci ma comunque noi romani siamo abituati alle cose alte al punto che abbiamo coniato quell’espressione tipicamente popolare nota come “oh zi vola basso” che tradotto in milanese è oh figa fly down che suona un po’ strano ma alla fine è uguale. Che poi ci stanno i torroni tutto l’anno qui, tutto l’anno capito? Praticamente è come se fosse sempre natale ma solo con la parte bella, cioè quella in cui se magna senza i parenti. Writing on IG can be confusing As promised yesterday, today we change drastically location! As you might have seen from my stories, at the end of January we headed to the wonderful city of Cremona and, due to the fact that we spent approximately 3 hours at the fantastic restaurant “Il Violino”, well… We just had the time to visit the Duomo outside and walk up the Torrazzo. But let’s dig a little bit in the history. The Cremona Cathedral, aka, in Italian, Duomo di Cremona, Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Cremona, Lombardy. Its bell tower is the famous Torrazzo, symbol of the city and tallest pre-modern tower in Italy. Originally built in Romanesque style, the cathedral has been restored and extended several times, with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. Its construction began in 1107, but the works were damaged and halted after an earthquake in 1117. The construction started again in 1129, and the building was finished approximately around 1160-1170. The main altar, dedicated to the city's patron saints Archelaus and Himerius, was consecrated in 1196. If by any chance you’re spending some time in Lombardy, don’t miss this wonderful city!
