“And I will dream of a man in a white cloak with a blood-red lining, a woman of boundless beauty and an unshaven man who glances about fearfully. And the moon will dance and frolic and seethe. And in the morning I shall know that none of this ever happened, and I will believe that - until the next spring full moon.” - THE MASTER AND MARGARITA
How fitting that we ended our journey with #CTCMargarita on the same day that its author, Mikhail Bulgakov, passed away in 1940. Bulgakov had begun working on his masterpiece as early as 1928 but never lived to see its explosive impact on the world. From his deathbed he dictated the final revisions to his third wife, Elena Sergeevna, who is believed to have been his inspiration for the character of Margarita.
Thank you as always to our village of artists, technicians, staff, volunteers, board members, supporters, and of course, audience members who traveled far and wide to see this story come to life. Until the next spring full moon...
